Bamboo Spa Limited is New Zealand’s first Filipino-owned massage spa, inspired by the founders’ homeland and dedicated to bringing the traditional healing art of Hilot to a wider audience.
Established in October 2016, Bamboo Spa opened its first branch in Henderson, Auckland, featuring eight massage bed cubicles and offering massage and body scrub services. Since then, the company has expanded significantly, now boasting 14 branches across New Zealand.
As the Home of Filipino Traditional Massage, Bamboo Spa remains committed to preserving and promoting Hilot, an ancient healing practice deeply rooted in Filipino culture. The founders—two passionate entrepreneurs and spa enthusiasts—brought their expertise from the Philippines to introduce this unique wellness experience to New Zealand.
Over the years, not only Filipinos but people from diverse backgrounds have embraced and appreciated the therapeutic benefits of Hilot, making it an integral part of their lifestyle.
